Which fabrics for your vest?
The vest is made with two fabrics: a main fabric for the outside and a lighter one for the lining.
For the outer fabric
The choice of material gives your vest all its character. You can use in particular:
• boiled wool
• wool
• sherpa or teddy fabric
• faux fur
• velvet
• quilted fabric
• jacquard
That way you can make a warm, cosy vest for autumn and winter, or choose a lighter material for a vest that is easy to wear in mid-season.
For the lining
For the inside, go for a lighter and more comfortable fabric, such as cotton poplin. Plain, printed, floral, graphic… the lining is also your chance to play with colour and pattern and to personalise your vest right down to the last detail.
How much fabric do you need?
You will need one fabric for the outside and one for the lining, in 150 cm (59 in) width.
Size XS:
• Outer fabric: 65 cm (3/4 yd)
• Lining: 65 cm (3/4 yd)
Size 3XL:
• Outer fabric: 150 cm (1 3/4 yd)
• Lining: 150 cm (1 3/4 yd)
The full fabric requirements for every size are in the ebook included with the pattern.
